Sustainability
Eco-sustainability and new technologies.
Sublitex decorates millions of square meters of media and surfaces each year for textile and industrial markets internationally, adopting production processes designed to reduce resource consumption and optimize operational efficiency.
The transfer printing technology used by the company enables a water-efficient process at the printing stage by reusing water within recirculated closed systems.
This contributes to the decrease in water consumption compared to conventional printing systems. At the same time, the optimization of production facilities and processing cycles makes it possible to contain energy consumption and reduce production waste.
From 2024 a photovoltaic system has been installed at the production plant. The system allows solar energy to be transformed into electricity up to a maximum power output of 860 kW, enabling the company to self-produce about 30 percent of its energy needs, contributing to the reduction of emissions and the efficiency of industrial processes.
Made with double-sided photovoltaic panels capable of capturing both direct and reflected solar radiation, the system is a technologically advanced solution for maximizing energy efficiency. Part of the system is installed in the parking area of the plant, while providing coverage for employees’ vehicles and optimizing the use of company space.
Chemical Management
To reduce the environmental impact of production processes and ensure the protection of workers' health and safety, Sublitex adopts a strict chemical management policy, in line with the main international standards in the industry. Through structured assessment and control procedures, the company ensures that only substances that comply with recognized certification systems are used in its production processes, contributing to high levels of operational safety, product quality and environmental responsibility throughout the supply chain.
Environmental monitoring and transparency
Sublitex adheres to the main international protocols recognized in the field of textile production sustainability, including ZDHC, bluesign® and ISO1 4001 by constantly monitoring resource consumption, chemical usage and performing additional analyses beyond the legal limits on environmental emissions generated by its production processes. The results of this monitoring are shared through the main portals of the certifying bodies and reported in the Sustainability Report, with the aim of ensuring transparency, traceability of information and an ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders.
Smoke disposal
The vapors generated during the printing processes are captured and conveyed to a Regenerative Thermal Oxidation (OTR) plant, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the amount of solvents released into the atmosphere, allowing compliance with the emission limits set for an area of high environmental protection, such as our UNESCO-recognized territory.
Certified printing paper
The paper used in production processes preferably comes from certified paper mills and, at the end of the processing cycle, can be sent for recycling or reused in other application areas.
Ink recycling
All inks in our gravure printing production process are entirely and consistently reused.
Reuse of printing cylinders
The metal cylinders used for rotogravure printing are constantly renewed and updated to meet the specific needs of customers and ensure high standards of printing quality. Sublitex has dedicated two production departments exclusively to the manufacture and engraving of new printing cylinders, operating in strict compliance with European regulations on safety, quality and environmental protection.
Synthetic fibers from recycling
For the Urban collection, we preferably use fabrics made from recycled synthetic fibers from GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified suppliers, actively contributing to improving the circularity of the textile supply chain.
Waste and textile waste management
About 80 percent of the waste produced by Sublitex is sent for material recovery. Since 2024, a program has also been in place to recover textile offcuts for recycling and reintegration into other supply chains
Certified printed fabrics with transfer technology
Sublitex offers the market a collection of printed fabrics made with transfer technology on recycled and partially recycled polyester, developed according to production processes
that do not require the use of water for either fabric preparation or finishing, thus significantly reducing the consumption of water resources compared to traditional printing systems.
By printing using sublimation transfer paper, color is transferred to the fabric through a highly efficient thermal process, eliminating the use of water in the printing stages while ensuring high color quality, detail accuracy and production continuity.
This approach allows brands and textile manufacturers to develop collections by combining:
-
high performance textile printing
-
use of recycled polyester GRS
-
Water consumption-free printing production processes
-
certified inks
Through the integration of technological innovation and environmental responsibility, Sublitex supports the textile industry’s evolution toward more efficient and traceable production models.
